Once the user has configured their tailored backup set or
sets and scheduled a start time, datahive
will automatically analise all the specified files, compress,
error check and encrypt them prior to sending them via a secure
internet connection (128k Secure Socket Layer - SSL) to our
primary and replication off-site backup servers.
After the initial backup, subsequent backups will only store
files, which are new or have been updated since the last backup.

All users files are secured by using
a 128k encryption algorithm and a user defined encrypting
key, which means that data transmitted and stored is in a
format totally meaningless to everyone except the user themselves.

Data can be restored to any computer with an Internet connection.
Irrespective if the computer has the datahive
Backup Manager installed, files
can be downloaded through the restore screen, or if the Backup
Manager is not present, files can be restored directly from
our Off-Site Backup Servers by logging in via the 'Subscribers
Login', link found on all pages of our website (see above).
In both instances you will be required to enter your login
username and encrypted password to access the facilities as
well as your encrypting key to authorise the restore. Without
these your files cannot be accessed or restored.
