document should be used as a guide to vslnet
policy with regard to acceptable use of our services.
The reputation of vslnet
is directly related to your use of our services and the
Internet. We wish to protect both ourselves and our customers
from illegal, unacceptable, abusive and unfair use of
the service, or use which we deem to cause an adverse
effect to other user of the Internet whether or not they
are connected to the vslnet
network.
Our policy is to
provide a quality service to our customers who, we trust,
will use the service(s) provided to them in a fair, honest
and reasonable manner. We strive to be completely transparent
as to our terms, pricing and use policies.

guide only and must be read in conjunction with our terms
and conditions document which can be found at www.vsl-net.com/tc.htm.
We suggest customers should also read the AUP held at
www.usenet.org.uk.

1. If you wish to contact us about
any infringement of our policies, please email abuse@vsl-net.com
2. If you have a question about our acceptable use policy
(AUP), please email cs@vsl-net.com
3. Any breach of our AUP will result in the suspension
of your service with immediate effect and ultimately termination
if the issue cannot be resolved, without notice and without
recompense
4. Storage of illegal material is an offence. You may
be breaking the law in the UK and in other parts of the
world by storing such material.
8. VSL will operate and put in place such systems as we
deem necessary to prevent abuse of our systems. and our
acceptable use philosophy.


Use of the "Backup Service" consists of the
right of a Subscriber to electronically transmit
and store computer data using either a private data communications
network, or the Internet to locations provided and maintained
by the Seller and to restore data from the
same locations where required.
The Seller reserves the right to cease the
Backup Service if the terms of this Agreement
or the acceptable use policy, are infringed by the Subscriber.
The Subscriber
shall not use the Backup Service for storage,
possession or transmission of:
1. Stolen materials
2. Data or material that may infringe the intellectual
property rights or other rights of third parties, including
trademark, copyright or right of publicity or privacy
3. Violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation
(including but not limited to the laws and regulations
governing, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or
false advertising), is defamatory, trade libellous,
unlawfully threatening, or unlawfully harassing
4. Obscene, pornographic or indecent content or materials
5. Any virus or other programming routine intended to
damage any form of information technology
6. Material that is provided in breach of any prior
contractual commitment to any third party
The Subscriber agrees to indemnify the Seller
against liability for use of Subscriber's
account, where liability is a direct result of the Subscriber's
illegal use, abuse, misuse or negligent use of its Backup
Account.
The Seller reserves the right to cease any
Backup /Service provided if the Subscriber
abuses the Backup Service beyond reasonable
use. Abuse of the Backup Service will be
deemed to be excessive indiscriminate transmissions
of data, which exceed reasonable use of the Sellers
facilities and bandwidth. A representative or agent
of the Seller will contact the Subscriber
in such an event prior to ceasing any Backup Service
provided.
